Project Facts
| Project type | Multi-branch CCTV remote-viewing proof of concept |
|---|---|
| Locations | Nugegoda and Kottawa, Sri Lanka |
| POC completion | October 2024 |
| Testing record | No issues found during the testing period |
| Observed constraint | Internet lag at Kottawa due to coverage |
| Operating period | Systems remained operating for an extended period |
Challenge
Before considering a wider rollout, the client needed to verify remote CCTV viewing across branches under real operating conditions. The test also needed to distinguish the CCTV system's operation from limitations in each branch's internet connectivity.
Engineering Approach
TKWIT completed the proof-of-concept systems at the Nugegoda and Kottawa branches and checked remote connectivity. Keeping the systems operating for an extended period allowed the assessment to reflect day-to-day conditions rather than a single demonstration.
Validation
The client recorded that the proof of concept was completed in October 2024 and that no issues were found during the testing period. TKWIT also noted internet lag at Kottawa due to coverage, preserving an important distinction between system operation and the available connection.
What This Demonstrates
A branch proof of concept can test remote viewing in the environment where it will be used and expose connectivity constraints before a broader decision is made. It provides practical evidence without assuming that every branch has identical network conditions.
