Service
Access control systems for offices and industrial sites
Access control decides who goes where, and keeps a record of it. We install card, PIN and biometric systems on doors, turnstiles and gates, and set up the rules behind them.
The hardware on the door is the visible part; the useful part is the arrangement behind it — who has access to which area, at which times, what happens when someone leaves, and whether the entry record can be relied on afterwards.

What's included
What our access control service covers
Everything below is part of the scope we agree in writing before work starts.
Door hardware and reader selection
Readers and locking hardware chosen per door — card, PIN, biometric or a combination — matched to the door type, traffic and environment.
Turnstiles, barriers and gates
Pedestrian turnstiles at entrances and vehicle gate control where site access needs to be managed rather than watched.
Installation and wiring
Readers, locks, exit devices, request-to-exit and emergency release wired and installed with the cabling and containment they need.
Users, groups and access rules
Access set up by role and area rather than person by person, so changes to a team do not mean re-doing every door.
Time-based access
Shift, working-hour and weekend rules, so contractors, cleaners and shift staff have access only when they should.
Entry records and reporting
A record of entries and attempts, with reporting so unusual access can actually be reviewed.
Integration with CCTV
Access events and camera coverage on the same doors, so an entry record can be checked against footage.
Who it's for
Sites we do this work on
If your situation is not listed, ask anyway — we will tell you honestly whether it is work we do.
- Offices controlling reception, server rooms and management floors
- Factories and industrial sites managing production, stores and yard access
- Warehouses restricting stock areas and loading bays
- Multi-tenant buildings and shared floors
- Clinics, labs and offices with restricted rooms
- Sites with contractors, shift workers and visitors coming and going
Planning & design
What we work out before quoting
These are the decisions that determine whether the finished system is useful or merely installed.
- Which doors genuinely need control?
- Controlling every door is expensive and slows the site down. Controlling the right five or six changes the risk picture more.
- Credential choice has trade-offs
- Cards can be shared or lost, PINs get passed around, biometrics avoid both but need clean conditions and clean hands. The right answer differs door by door.
- Doors, frames and locks
- Existing door and frame condition determines what locking hardware is even possible. This is assessed on site before anything is quoted.
- Safe exit comes first
- People must be able to get out. Exit devices, emergency release and fail-safe or fail-secure behaviour are decided per door with that in mind.
- Power interruptions
- Locks and controllers need power. What each door does during an outage is a design decision, not something to discover during one.
- Joiners and leavers
- Access control is only as good as the process for removing access. We set it up so revoking access is quick and obvious.
- Attendance and other uses
- Entry data is often wanted for attendance too. If that matters, it belongs in the design from the start rather than as a later retrofit.
How it works
Our implementation process
The same order every time, so you always know what stage the project is at.
- 01
Door survey
Which doors, current hardware, door and frame condition, traffic and environment.
- 02
Design and quotation
Reader and lock schedule per door, cabling, controllers and access structure.
- 03
Cabling and containment
Runs to readers, locks and controllers installed and protected.
- 04
Installation
Readers, locking hardware, exit devices and controllers fitted.
- 05
Configuration
Users, groups, areas, time rules and reporting set up.
- 06
Testing
Every door tested for entry, exit, denial and emergency release.
- 07
Handover and briefing
Administration briefing so your team can manage users confidently.
Afterwards
Maintenance and support
Installation is the start of the relationship, not the end of it.
- Adding doors, readers and users as the site changes
- Fault attendance on readers, locks and controllers
- Reviewing access rules as teams and shifts change
- Maintenance alongside CCTV and network support
- Replacing failed hardware and credentials
Questions
Frequently asked
- Card, PIN or fingerprint — which should we use?
- It depends on the door. Cards suit high-traffic entrances, PINs suit low-traffic internal doors, and biometrics suit doors where you must know exactly who entered. Many sites end up with a mix, and that is a reasonable outcome.
- Can access control work with our CCTV?
- Yes, and it is worth doing. Entry records become far more useful when the same doors are covered by cameras and the two can be checked together.
- What happens during a power failure?
- That is defined per door during design — including safe exit and whether a door holds secure or releases. We agree it with you rather than leaving it to the hardware default.
- Can we use it for attendance records?
- Entry data can support attendance, and if that is a requirement we design for it from the start so reader placement and rules suit that use as well.

CCTV Installation
We install CCTV systems for homes, offices, shops, warehouses and multi-site businesses — starting with a site visit so the camera positions are decided on the actual building, not on a guess.
See CCTV InstallationSecurity Consultation
Before choosing cameras, readers or alarms, it helps to be clear about what you are protecting and where the real gaps are. Our consultation covers exactly that, and produces a plan you could take to anyone.

Cabling is the part of a network nobody looks at until something intermittent starts happening. We install and repair data cabling so it is neat, labelled, tested and easy to work on later.
