CCTV maintenance and annual maintenance contracts

A CCTV system quietly stops being useful long before anyone notices. Maintenance exists so that the day you need footage, the footage is there.

The failures we are called out for are rarely dramatic: a lens fogged by rain, a camera nudged by a delivery, a failed disk that stopped recording weeks ago, or retention silently reduced when a channel was added. Every one of those is caught by a routine check, and every one of them is discovered too late without one.

What's included

What our cctv maintenance & amc service covers

Everything below is part of the scope we agree in writing before work starts.

  • Scheduled inspection visits

A planned visit cycle rather than waiting for something to break — each camera, the recorder, the switch and the power arrangement all checked.

  • Camera cleaning and re-aiming

Lenses and housings cleaned, mounts tightened, and any camera that has drifted off its intended view brought back to it.

  • Recording and retention verification

We confirm every channel is recording, play back footage from the oldest day available, and check that retention still matches what you were promised.

  • Storage and hardware health

Disk health, recorder condition, temperature, fans and power all checked, so a failing disk is replaced before it takes your footage with it.

  • System updates

Recorder and camera firmware and viewing software kept current where an update is appropriate, applied deliberately rather than blindly.

  • Repairs and fault attendance

Faults diagnosed and repaired, cabling and connector problems corrected, and failed units replaced.

  • Visit reporting

A record of what was checked, what was corrected and anything you should plan for — so system condition is documented, not remembered.

Who it's for

Sites we do this work on

If your situation is not listed, ask anyway — we will tell you honestly whether it is work we do.

  • Businesses whose insurance or internal policy depends on working footage
  • Retail, restaurants and shops with high camera use and greasy or dusty air
  • Warehouses and yards where external cameras take weather and vehicle knocks
  • Offices and clinics that need footage available on request
  • Multi-site operators who want the same standard checked at every branch
  • Owners of systems installed by someone else and never serviced since

Planning & design

What we work out before quoting

These are the decisions that determine whether the finished system is useful or merely installed.

How often should visits happen?
Frequency follows the environment. Coastal, dusty, greasy or heavily external sites degrade faster than a clean air-conditioned office.
Retention is a moving target
Adding cameras, raising resolution or changing frame rate all shorten how far back you can look. It is worth re-checking rather than assuming.
Disks are consumables
Surveillance disks record continuously and eventually fail. Planning for replacement is cheaper than discovering it during an incident.
Who can find footage?
If only one person knows how to export a clip, the system fails when they are away. We include briefing for more than one person.
Systems we did not install
We take over third-party systems after an initial condition assessment, so both sides know what state the system is starting from.
Ad-hoc or contract?
Individual call-outs suit small systems; an AMC suits anyone who needs the checks to actually happen without chasing them.

How it works

Our implementation process

The same order every time, so you always know what stage the project is at.

  1. 01

    Condition assessment

We inspect the existing system and report its real state and coverage.

  2. 02

    Scope agreement

Visit frequency, what is covered, and what falls outside as chargeable work — agreed in writing.

  3. 03

    Scheduled visits

Planned inspections carried out on cycle.

  4. 04

    Corrections

Cleaning, re-aiming, tightening, settings and minor repairs handled on the visit.

  5. 05

    Reporting

A visit record with findings and anything to plan for.

  6. 06

    Fault response

Attendance between visits when something fails.

Afterwards

Maintenance and support

Installation is the start of the relationship, not the end of it.

  • Annual maintenance contracts (AMC) for CCTV and related systems
  • One-off service and repair visits
  • Takeover and rehabilitation of neglected systems
  • Disk and hardware replacement
  • Extending or upgrading a system that is otherwise sound

Questions

Frequently asked

What does an AMC actually cover?
An AMC can be scoped to include scheduled inspection visits, cleaning and re-aiming, recording and retention verification, storage and hardware checks, appropriate updates, and attendance for faults. Replacement parts and additional equipment are quoted separately. The exact scope is set out in the agreement for your site.
Will you maintain a system another company installed?
Yes, after a condition assessment. That assessment protects you as much as us — it establishes what is already wrong before we take responsibility for it.
How do I know my footage is really being kept?
We play back the oldest available recording during the visit. That is the only reliable way to confirm retention, and it is a standard part of what we check.
My cameras still show a picture. Isn't that enough?
A live picture does not prove recording, and recording does not prove retention. Systems very often display perfectly while storing nothing usable.

What people usually ask about alongside this

  • CCTV Installation

We install CCTV systems for homes, offices, shops, warehouses and multi-site businesses — starting with a site visit so the camera positions are decided on the actual building, not on a guess.

    See CCTV Installation
  • Security Consultation

Before choosing cameras, readers or alarms, it helps to be clear about what you are protecting and where the real gaps are. Our consultation covers exactly that, and produces a plan you could take to anyone.

  • Access Control

Access control decides who goes where, and keeps a record of it. We install card, PIN and biometric systems on doors, turnstiles and gates, and set up the rules behind them.
