Security consultation: decide what you need before you buy it

Before choosing cameras, readers or alarms, it helps to be clear about what you are protecting and where the real gaps are. Our consultation covers exactly that, and produces a plan you could take to anyone.

Security spending goes wrong in two directions: buying more than the site needs, or buying a system that leaves the actual weak point untouched. A consultation separates the requirement from the shopping list, so the eventual quotation answers a defined problem instead of a vague worry.

What's included

What our security consultation service covers

Everything below is part of the scope we agree in writing before work starts.

  • Site assessment walkthrough

We walk the premises with you and look at approaches, boundaries, entry points, internal movement, deliveries, cash and stock handling, and where people are alone or exposed.

  • Gap and risk review

A plain-language summary of where the site is currently weak — including things that are procedural rather than technical, which no equipment will fix.

  • Custom security plan

A written plan setting out what should be covered, in what order, and why — so phase one addresses the highest risk rather than the easiest install.

  • Technology recommendations

Which combination of CCTV, access control, intercom and alarm suits your situation, and equally where a particular technology would be an expensive distraction.

  • Existing system review

If systems are already installed, we assess coverage, condition, recording and retention, and identify what can be reused rather than replaced.

  • Phasing and priority

A realistic sequence when the whole scope cannot happen at once, structured so early phases are not wasted when later ones are added.

Who it's for

Sites we do this work on

If your situation is not listed, ask anyway — we will tell you honestly whether it is work we do.

  • Businesses moving into new premises or fitting out a new floor
  • Owners who have had an incident and want an objective assessment
  • Organisations with several sites and inconsistent systems
  • Property developers and facility managers planning coverage
  • Anyone who has received quotations and wants clarity before deciding
  • Homes and residences where a considered plan matters more than camera count

Planning & design

What we work out before quoting

These are the decisions that determine whether the finished system is useful or merely installed.

What are you actually protecting?
People, stock, cash, equipment, data and reputation each call for different measures. Naming the priority changes the plan more than any product choice.
Who needs to see and act on it?
A system nobody reviews is a recording device, not security. We look at who watches, who responds and what they are expected to do.
Deterrence versus evidence
Visible cameras deter; well-positioned cameras produce usable evidence. These sometimes pull in opposite directions and are worth deciding consciously.
Operational reality
Doors propped open, shared cards and unattended deliveries defeat good equipment. The plan takes daily habits into account.
Privacy and staff areas
Coverage is planned to address the risk without pointing cameras where they do not belong.
Budget honesty
If the requirement genuinely needs more than the budget allows, we say so and propose what to do first rather than thinning everything out.

How it works

Our implementation process

The same order every time, so you always know what stage the project is at.

  1. 01

    Briefing conversation

We start with the concern that prompted the enquiry and what has already happened or been quoted.

  2. 02

    Site walkthrough

An on-site assessment of approaches, entries, internal flow and existing systems.

  3. 03

    Findings

A clear account of the gaps we found, in order of importance.

  4. 04

    Security plan

A written plan with recommended coverage, technology and phasing.

  5. 05

    Costing

Indicative scope for each phase, so the plan can be budgeted.

  6. 06

    Implementation, if you want it

We can deliver the plan, or you can use it with anyone — the plan is yours.

Afterwards

Maintenance and support

Installation is the start of the relationship, not the end of it.

  • Review visits after changes to the building or operation
  • Reassessment when opening or acquiring another site
  • Design input for fit-outs and expansions
  • Ongoing advice as your systems grow

Questions

Frequently asked

Is a consultation only useful for large sites?
No. Small sites often benefit most, because there is no room for wasted spending and one or two decisions determine whether the system works.
Do I have to buy the system from you afterwards?
No. The plan is written so you can act on it however you choose. Implementation is a separate decision and can be quoted separately.
We already have quotations. Can you review them?
Yes. We look at whether the proposed coverage matches your risk, whether retention and storage are realistic, and what is missing from the scope.
What do we get at the end?
A written security plan: what to cover, what technology suits, in what order, and why — in language a non-technical decision maker can act on.

What people usually ask about alongside this

  • CCTV Installation

We install CCTV systems for homes, offices, shops, warehouses and multi-site businesses — starting with a site visit so the camera positions are decided on the actual building, not on a guess.

    See CCTV Installation
  • Access Control

Access control decides who goes where, and keeps a record of it. We install card, PIN and biometric systems on doors, turnstiles and gates, and set up the rules behind them.

  • CCTV Maintenance & AMC

A CCTV system quietly stops being useful long before anyone notices. Maintenance exists so that the day you need footage, the footage is there.
