Leased lines, dedicated internet access and fibre internet are supplied by licensed telecom operators; TKWIT helps you specify the requirement, coordinates provisioning and the hand-off with the operator you choose, and designs, installs and tests the in-building fibre, cabling, router, firewall and network behind it.

Where a business is establishing or expanding operations here, we can coordinate connectivity between the Sri Lankan office and its regional or global locations, alongside the network, Wi-Fi, security and communication systems on site.

Who does what
Leased line, fibre internet and office fibre: operator vs TKWIT
A business internet connection in Colombo has two parts, and it helps to know who is responsible for each.
The internet line (leased line, dedicated internet access or fibre broadband)
Delivered by a licensed telecom operator to your building. The operator owns the last-mile fibre and sets the bandwidth, price and any service-level terms. A leased line (sometimes searched as a “lease line”) gives dedicated, usually symmetrical bandwidth; business broadband is shared. TKWIT does not supply internet service itself.
What TKWIT does
We help define the requirement, coordinate the order and hand-off with your chosen operator, and engineer everything inside the premises: fibre backbone and fibre optic cabling between floors or buildings, structured cabling, comms-room racks, router, firewall, switching and Wi-Fi — then test and document it. This applies to offices throughout Sri Lanka, including Colombo 01–08 and Port City Colombo, and to projects run by head-office teams overseas.

Dedicated connectivity is usually planned alongside cabling, network and security when a new Colombo office is fitted out. For premises in Port City Colombo, our Port City hub covers the full fit-out.
